Lions clubs work to make day special

09 Jan, 2012 01:00 AM
THE Riverside and West Tamar Lions Clubs have made a huge effort for Australia's national day of patriotism.

Special celebratory events at Riverside's Windsor Community Precinct and Greens Beach are in place - the best part is they're totally free to the public.

An informal community breakfast will kick off at the Windsor precinct from 8am.

Fresh fruit, egg and bacon muffins, tea, coffee and fruit juice will be available for the odd hungry celebrant until 10.30am.

The club has encouraged commuters to explore the nature trail and participate in the organised activities.

From 10am to 2pm the West Tamar Lions club will be partying on at Greens Beach with its family fun day.

A free sausage sizzle, beach games, sandcastle competitions, a treasure hunt and loads of Australia Day giveaways will make this event a must for old and young alike. For more information contact the West Tamar Council on 63239300.
