Produce shared between visitors

12 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
IT ALMOST looked like disaster, but thankfully the weather cleared up for the Point of Women's Best of the Tamar Valley Market.

The market, held at the Clarence Point Hall, was in aid of the association's local fund-raising projects.

Point of Women chairwoman Christina Holmdahl said the market was a success.

"The skies cleared to a beautiful sunny day," Ms Holmdahl said.

"The market was well patronised with visitors from all over the Launceston and Tamar Valley regions."

She said the market was used as a way of sharing produce from within the valley.

"The wide variety of produce, plants, cheeses, Tamar Valley wines, novelty items and arts and crafts and face painting provided something for everyone," Ms Holmdahl said.

"The funds raised will go towards Point of Women's student bursary and other projects that benefit the community in the northern end of the Tamar Valley."

Ms Holmdahl said the market will be held again next year by Point of Women.

"It will be on Good Friday next year and promises to be the best ever," she said.
